Lea Salonga has performed on some of the world’s most storied stages, from Carnegie Hall in Manhattan to the Sydney Opera House on Australia’s waterfront. But in Napa, the Broadway legend found herself taking in a different kind of landmark.
“I was just in conversation with my manager and agent, who’s standing in the back there,” Salonga told the audience at Carneros Resort and Spa, where she headlined the opening night of the fifth annual Broadway and Vine season Thursday, June 25. “We’ve been working together going on 20 years. And I asked him, ‘Is this the prettiest place we’ve done a show?’ And then he looked at the scenery and looked back at me and said, ‘I think it is.’”
