6 Oregon cities among worst in US for alcohol-induced deaths in adults 65+

Four Oregon cities see some of the highest rates of alcohol-induced deaths among adults older than 65 in the United States, according to a new report.

Woodlands Grove Recovery Campus, an Ohio-based addiction treatment center, analyzed five years of federal mortality and population data to identify where alcohol-induced deaths are most concentrated among Americans within retirement age.

“Alcohol-induced mortality among adults age 65+ is often overlooked because it can be masked bychronic illness, medication complications, isolation, grief, and other age-related health concerns,” the study said…
