Fort Wayne Philharmonic calling on community as music director search narrows to six finalists

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The Fort Wayne Philharmonic has narrowed its search for a new music director to six finalists, and community members will have a role in choosing who gets the job.

Two hundred conductors from across the globe competed for the position. The field has since been narrowed to six candidates.

Brittany Hall, President and CEO of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, said all six finalists will visit Fort Wayne twice as part of the selection process.

“We’re working out all of the details but all the candidates will be in town twice,” Hall said. “We really want to get to know them, we want to introduce them to our audiences, to our community.”…
