Three arrested for ‘prison break-in’ at Shelby County Penal Farm

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It wasn’t a prison break but rather a prison break-in that led to the arrests of three men at the Shelby County Penal Farm on Tuesday, deputies say.

Carloss Wilkins, 31, Ladarius Munn, 31, and Jamie Rusan, 24, were all charged with aggravated burglary and conspiring to bring contraband into a penal institution.

According to the affidavit of complaint, at around 2 a.m., two men dressed in all black were spotted getting out of a vehicle with several bags on Dovecrest Road near the Penal Farm.

Detectives said they saw both suspects abruptly lie down in the grass, hiding as a marked Shelby County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle drove through the area. The suspects then proceeded on foot towards the Inmate Reception Area…
