GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — WOOD TV+ is debuting a new podcast highlighting golf courses all across West Michigan.
News 8 sports correspondents Dean Holzwarth and Andy McDonald will visit area golf courses throughout the summer and discuss their experiences while talking to golf course owners about their respective courses.
Hitting Out of the Woods: Ironwood Golf Course
The second stop on their summer tour was Mines Golf Club at 330 Covell Ave. SW on Grand Rapids’ West Side. Mines Golf Club is 18 holes of rolling fairways and undulated bent grass greens with playability from four sets of tees.
The course gets its name from sitting 150 feet above gypsum mines that were utilized as early as the 1860s and features 110 feet of elevation change from the highest to lowest point on the course…
