EPD reminds residents of firework rules ahead of 4th of July

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, the Evansville Police Department is reminding residents about when and where consumer fireworks are allowed within city limits.

Officials say fireworks may be used in Evansville from now through July 9, beginning at 5 p.m. each day and running until two hours after sunset.

There is one key exception: on July 4, fireworks are permitted from 10 a.m. until midnight.

Authorities emphasize that while fireworks are allowed during those designated times, they are prohibited in several areas. Fireworks cannot be used on streets, in public parks, or any other public spaces. Police also remind residents that fireworks must not land on neighboring or private property…
