Duty Calls: NY Army National Guard Col. Matthew Kilgore named new commander

New York Army National Guard Col. Matthew Kilgore, a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, is the new commander of the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the 42nd Infantry Division.

Kilgore, who previously served as 53rd Troop Command Headquarters chief of staff at the Camp Smith Training Site in Cortlandt Manor, assumed command during a ceremony at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
