Judge ‘troubled’ by further delays in death penalty case of Atlanta spa shooter

ATLANTA — The Fulton County death penalty case of Robert Aaron Long was again before a judge on Monday, who said he was “troubled” by further delays in the five-year-old case with a new defense attorney on Long’s legal team.

Long was in court for another status hearing Monday, with Judge Ural Glanville expressing his frustration at further delays in the case.

The 2021 Atlanta spa shooter, who is already serving life without parole in Cherokee County for the portion of the shootings that took place in that jurisdiction, has a new defense attorney who asked for 9-12 months to review the case in full, consider any new motions and then proceed…
