Wyoming police: Body found in dumpster at construction site

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Wyoming police are investigating after a body was found in a dumpster Sunday night, but say they do not believe foul play is suspected.

The body was that of Joseph Hammer, 38, of Wyoming, police said Monday. His family has been notified.

The Wyoming Police Department says that around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, someone reported a dumpster fire at a construction site on 28th Street SW between Burlingame and Michael avenues. But when firefighters arrived, there was no fire and “no evidence that one had occurred.”

Instead, the firefighter spotted the man in the dumpster. They tried to help him, but Hammer was pronounced dead at the scene…
