Retired teacher brings ‘Zest’ to west Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Janelle Whempner was just doing her own homework assignment when she decided to open a restaurant.

A recently retired teacher from Sioux Falls’ Career and Technical Education (CTE) Academy, where she taught culinary arts, Whempner gave all her students the task of coming up with their own business plan for a bakery.
