OSP: 18-year-old fell asleep at the wheel before deadly Highway 101 crash on Oregon coast

PORT ORFORD, Ore. — An 18-year-old from Washington died Friday morning in a crash on Highway 101 on the southern Oregon coast, and initial reports say he fell asleep at the wheel before drifting into oncoming traffic.

The crash was reported at about 8:20 a.m. near Milepost 312, which is close to Port Orford.
