Johnson County offers reimbursement program for healthier lawns

JOHNSON COUNTY, Iowa — Johnson County homeowners in unincorporated areas and several smaller communities can once again apply for financial assistance to improve their lawns through the county’s Soil Health – Soil Quality Restoration Program.

The program reimburses 50% of the cost of soil quality restoration, up to $2,000, for eligible homeowners who want healthier lawns without relying on chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

Eligible residents include those living in unincorporated Johnson County and the communities of Hills, Lone Tree, Oxford, Shueyville, Solon, Swisher, Tiffin, University Heights and the portions of West Branch located within Johnson County…
