Tulsa and Tulsa Public Schools Seek Developers for 5 Housing Sites

Five vacant lots and shuttered school buildings scattered across Tulsa could soon become homes — and the city is putting out an open call to any developer willing to build them.

The City of Tulsa and Tulsa Public Schools are jointly soliciting developers for five underused properties through a new request for proposals, which cites pent-up demand for more than 4,000 housing units in Tulsa right now — a number projected to grow to 12,900 units by 2033.

The sites range from a steep, two-acre riverfront parcel along Historic Route 66 to former elementary school campuses in north and east Tulsa, each with its own zoning, price tag, and development vision.
