COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Jurors in the murder trial of Elijah Smith heard testimony Wednesday from a medical examiner, the lead detective and a defense witness in the deaths of two men killed at a Columbus block party in April 2022.
Medical examiner and detective take the stand
The medical examiner testified that both Marque Humber and Nakevious Petty died from multiple gunshot wounds on April 10, 2022.
Lead Detective Thomas Hill also testified, and jurors were shown an interrogation video recorded after Smith’s arrest. In the video, Smith acknowledged he was at the block party but denied firing the shots.
