Gibson County triple homicide suspect testifies he didn’t feel safe in his home

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – The man accused of shooting and killing his wife and two of her family members in his Haubstadt home took the stand on Wednesday to tell the court about how he felt threatened by their presence inside his home.

According to testimony from Patrick Waite, he met Alma through an online dating site. On her first date, she disclosed that she had been to prison for three years, but he said he didn’t want her to get into the details.

Three months after that date, she had moved into his home.
