COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The verdict has been reached in the trial for the man accused of killing two teenagers at a Columbus block party in 2022.
The jury has found Elijah Smith guilty in the shooting deaths of Marque Humber and Nakevius Petty, both 19. His charges are as follows:
- 2 counts of malice murder- Guilty
- 2 counts of felony murder- Guilty
- 2 counts of aggravated assault- Guilty
- 1 count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony – Guilty
Smith will be sentenced on July 15 at 9 a.m.
