FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – After nearly a week of dangerously hot conditions with heat indices soaring past 100 degrees each day, today marks the final day of the First Alert Weather Day stretch for Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio.
Yesterday’s peak heat indices painted a picture of the intensity residents have endured: Fort Wayne’s north side hit 110 degrees, with Fremont, Bryan and Van Wert also reaching 110. New Haven, Spencerville and Lafontaine all topped out at 107-109 degrees.
Today: Last Day of Intense Heat
Friday will bring in the possibility of a few scattered storms, mainly north, during the early morning hours. Past that, most of the daytime hours look to be mostly sunny. The real story develops tonight as scattered storms redevelop across the region.
