Daphne teen remains on ventilator nearly six weeks after motorcycle crash

DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) – Nearly six weeks after a motorcycle crash in Daphne, 19-year-old Logan Combs remains on a ventilator as his family takes his recovery one day at a time.

Investigators say Combs was airlifted to the hospital after a collision on Austin Road on May 22. His mother, Lisa Combs, said he was about 10 minutes from home when the crash happened — the morning after he brought his first purchased motorcycle home.

“He was on his way home and a car pulled out in front of him and he just couldn’t stop,” Lisa said.

What the crash report says

According to the crash report, Logan was traveling southbound on Austin Road when the driver of another vehicle attempted to turn left onto Rebel Road. The report states that driver failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic. Investigators say the driver later told them he did not see any oncoming traffic as he made the turn…
