NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Emergency crews were called to the scene after a fire broke out at a hotel in the western suburbs overnight.
The blaze erupted overnight at a Hilton hotel located along Diehl Road in Naperville.
Guests at the hotel were awoken to find that the building had caught fire, but the alarms never seemed to have gone off, according to one guest.
“At 1 a.m., I hear knocking on my door like, “You gotta get out.” The building’s on fire. I said, “how can the building be on fire when there’s no alarms going off?” It looks like the lightning hit the transformer that killed the alarm.
