Investigation underway for dogs found stranded on boat

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Authorities are investigating after five dogs were found abandoned on a boat near the Inland Marina.

Police received the report on Thursday. Police say as they approached the boat, they could smell urine and feces due to the extreme heat. They say they got a reading of more than 100 degrees inside the boat.

Police say there was only what appeared to be river water left for drinking, no food and a fan that did not circulate the air well. Because the boat was on the Kentucky side of the river, Kentucky Animal Control took the dogs and took over the investigation…
