South Jordan Justice Court shuts down, cases transferred

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — The South Jordan Justice Court has permanently closed, according to the city.

As of July 1, the South Jordan Justice Court at City Hall is permanently closed. According to the city, all cases will be transferred to the Salt Lake County Justice Court for processing, and new cases will be handled there.

The justice court was responsible for processing Class B and C misdemeanors, as well as any city ordinance violations and infractions committed within its jurisdiction. Small claims would also generally go to the justice court.
