“Triskelion” got the mild upset win, taking it by a nose, over the favorite, “Beach Heist”. We spoke to jockey Cristian Torres, who had the winning ride, for trainer Rusty Arnold.
“I had the trip that I wanted. She broke sharp. She was sitting perfectly throughout,” said Torres. “She was just waiting for me to ask her to finish. When I asked her at the quarter pole, she changed leads perfectly and executed. It was a nice effort from her. My filly, she had won on the lead and sitting off, so today, I broke from the outside and decided to sit off, and when I asked her, she was right there for me. Rusty told me she was doing really good and she came out of her last race at Churchill pretty well, so we were hoping for a good run from her and she did!”…
