Owner of Paradise Bakery to Open Destination Restaurant at Nebraska Crossing

Nebraska Crossing is stepping up its restaurant game. One of the Gretna mall’s existing concepts has expanded its menu, while a new destination restaurant is scheduled to come online late this summer.

Kalamata Mediterranean Grill and Bar plans to open in August or September inside the former Voodoo Taco space at Nebraska Crossing. The restaurant will be owned and operated by John Sgourakis, who also runs Paradise Bakery.

Sgourakis’ family owns Greek Islands at 38th & Center Street, so it’s no surprise that Kalamata will be known for fresh, homemade Greek food. Sgourakis said he has not yet decided whether Kalamata will be a quick-serve or full-service restaurant. Either way, it will have a full bar with Greek wines, beers and cocktails…
