(FOX40.COM) — Arson is suspected as the cause of a deadly fire at a Patterson home Sunday night, and an investigation is underway.
CAL FIRE, the Patterson Fire Department and other local fire units responded to reports of a residential structure fire at about 9:50 p.m., fire officials said in a news releases Monday morning.
When crews arrived at the house, located in the 1100 block of Shearwater Drive, they found it “well involved,” according to the Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigation Unit.
The city’s engines were committed to another active structure fire at the time of dispatch, the Patterson Fire Department said, but a battalion chief “immediately diverted” to the new emergency, “arriving first on scene” where they observed heavy fire and smoke…
