In 2020, about 16,700 people lived in Celina, Texas. A small farming community 40 miles north of downtown Dallas, where the land was flat and open and the commute into the city was long enough to keep most people away.
Today, more than 64,000 people live there. The city grew by nearly 4x in five years. According to the US Census Bureau data released May 14, 2026, Celina grew faster than any other city in the United States with a population over 20,000.
