Tornado, macroburst confirmed in Ohio, cutting 10-mile path of destruction

A tornado and straight-line winds left behind a huge path of destruction, downing nearly a thousand trees during severe storms over the Fourth of July weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS office in Cleveland confirmed a tornado touched down in Canfield in Mahoning County on Sunday, July 5.

The more destructive event, however was a macroburst with 90 mph winds that caused damage over an area 10 miles long and 3 miles wide in Mahoning County…
