Ohio HEAP Program to assist with high electric bills

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WOWK) – As dangerously high temperatures continue to sweep across the Tri-State, residents have been feeling the strain of high electric bills while trying to stay cool.

One program in Ohio is currently open to applications for residents who need help with the rising bills. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services is offering assistance to help families stay cool during the hot temperatures.

From July 1 through Sept. 30, income-eligible Ohioans can receive assistance in paying their electric bills through the Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program (HEAP)…
