COLUMBUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—On Tuesday, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine officially signed Ohio House Bill 492 into law, introducing new identification requirements for drivers and passengers during traffic stops.
The legislation mandates that all occupants of a motor vehicle must disclose their name, address, and date of birth to a peace officer when requested during a traffic stop. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a fourth-degree misdemeanor charge.
