Driver airlifted to Indianapolis hospital after striking trailer ramp in rural Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ind. — A driver was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital after he struck a trailer ramp in rural Madison County late Wednesday morning.

According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to a portion of County Road 1100 North located just east of County Road 300 East around 11:30 a.m. to investigate a crash. When deputies arrived at the scene, they located an orange 2011 Jeep Wrangler that had been crashed into a soybean field.

The Wrangler’s driver — a 58-year-old man from Alexandria — sustained serious head injuries in the crash. He was airlifted from the scene to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis to have his injuries treated…
