‘It means a lot to me’: Hampton main library reopens this week after being closed for nearly a year due to mold

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — It’s been nearly a year since Hampton closed the book on its main library because of mold, but now ithas turned the page for a fresh start as of this week.

The library, located on Victoria Boulevard, officially re-opened to the community Monday after extensive renovations.

“I can’t tell you how happy I am,” said resident Carolyn H. Hawkins. “I came right in here on Monday to check out everything. It means a lot to me.”…
