NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Two Virginia news organizations are asking a judge to unseal court records from the criminal case against former Richneck Elementary School Assistant Principal Ebony Parker, arguing there is no longer a legal basis for keeping the information from the public.
The motion, filed by attorneys representing The Daily Press and The Virginian-Pilot, seeks to unseal juror information and video evidence that were sealed during Parker’s trial.
The request comes after a Newport News Circuit Court judge dismissed all eight felony charges against Parker in May, ending the criminal case.
