35-year-old man killed in apparent drive-by shooting in Woodlawn, according to Chicago police

CHICAGO — A 35-year-old man was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting Wednesday night in Woodlawn on the city’s South Side, according to Chicago police.

The victim has since been identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office as Antonio Webb of Chicago.

Police say Webb was outside in the 6700 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue around 7:15 p.m. when two vehicles, a gray SUV and a white SUV, approached him. An unknown number of offenders got out of the SUVs and fired multiple shots at Webb before getting back into the vehicles and fleeing in an unknown direction.
