ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The executive director of an Asheville homeless shelter is weighing in on North Carolina Governor Josh Stein’s decision to veto a bill meant to regulate encampments.
Bill 437 would have given local governments the power to direct unhoused people to designated spaces while banning what it calls “unauthorized sleeping” in public spaces.
