MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Murfreesboro Police Department is urging the public to use safe exchange locations after two teens were were robbed at gunpoint earlier this week while conducting an online transaction.
According to authorities, the incident took place just before midnight on Wednesday, July 8, after two teens agreed to sell clothing to buyers that they met on Instagram. However, when the buyers arrived, they reportedly brandished an AR-style pistol and handgun before robbing the teens for their clothing and cash.

The MPD added the suspects, who were wearing ski masks and dressed in black, left the scene of the robbery before law enforcement arrived. With the assistance of license plate reader technology, data analysts said they were able to identify the vehicle involved in the robbery.
After receiving an LPR alert, officers stopped the vehicle at North Rutherford Boulevard and Alumni Drive. According to the MPD, three teen suspects were arrested and taken to the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center. Officials said the trio is facing aggravated robbery charges…
