Two Texas fishermen were nearly 30 miles offshore when the largest fish in the ocean quietly appeared beside their boat.
Zach Loper and his longtime fishing buddy Jimmy Limon, who live southeast of San Antonio, had headed through Packery Channel before the Fourth of July weekend to fish near rock structures off Corpus Christi. The morning was choppy, and after hours of fishing in deep water, both men stopped for a break.
