MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — Montgomery County police are offering residents free catalytic converter etching to help protect their vehicles from theft.
The department’s “Operation: Etch & Catch” event, scheduled for July 15, allows residents to have a unique identification number etched onto their catalytic converters to help deter theft by signaling the parts can be traced if they’re stolen.
