Steel, sound and time: Reno artist builds 25-foot mechanical clock tower with student interns

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Artist Adrian Landon, known for his 35-foot mechanical sculpture Pegasus Wings of Glory, is building a larger structure in a Reno workshop.

The new piece, called The Sound of Time, is a 25-foot mechanical, musical clock tower designed for people to climb, walk through, and stand next to gears as tall as they are.

Landon and co-founder Rebekah Stetson lead the Abracadabra Collective, a nonprofit that is mentoring five paid high school interns and five college interns through the full fabrication process…
