FEMA announces $48M more for nearly 40 NC disaster recovery, mitigation projects

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — FEMA announces another $48 million for nearly 40 recovery and mitigation projects in North Carolina to aid with recovery from Helene and past disasters.

FEMA said Western North Carolina areas, including Asheville, Mitchell and Rutherford counties, are all getting funds.

  • To repair Helene-damaged parks and management costs for Mitchell County: $2.6 million.
  • For Helene management costs, Asheville is getting $2.4 million and Rutherford County is getting $1.2 million.
