Who is going to bring Central Valley stories to the big screen?

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The 10th annual Big Tell film contest winners were announced Friday by the Community Media Access Collaborative (CMAC).

A total of 123 filmmakers submitted documentary ideas about untold stories from the Central Valley for this year’s competition. Applicants were judged on criteria such as the diversity of the story and how the picture might contribute to a compelling Central Valley narrative, according to CMAC.

The top 10 local filmmakers who will receive $5,000 to bring their film concepts to life are listed below.

The cash prize is not the only help the filmmakers will be getting. Angelica Hernandez, an award-winning filmmaker, will be mentoring the participants as well. CMAC also provides access to production tools and training…
