At Fresno Bully Rescue, we are an on-site rescue, which means the dogs who come into our care stay with us until they find their families. We celebrate every adoption, but the heartbreaking reality is that not every dog finds a home quickly. Some wait months. Others wait years. No one ever plans for that. It just happens.
These dogs watch their kennel neighbors leave one by one, while they remain. They continue to greet visitors with wagging tails, hoping each new face might finally be the one they’ve been waiting for. Somehow, they never stop believing.
One of those dogs is Uzi. In 2020, Uzi and her brother were discovered abandoned on a lonely country road beside a dairy. They were just puppies. Frightened, vulnerable, and completely dependent on the kindness of strangers, they were thankfully brought to Fresno Bully Rescue. Later that same year, Uzi was adopted. We celebrated her happy ending, believing her rescue story had come to a close. But in 2022 she came back.
Since that day, Uzi has been waiting. She’s watched countless dogs arrive, find families, and leave. She’s celebrated everyone else’s happy ending while still hoping for her own. Yet through it all, she’s never lost the joyful spirit that makes her so special.
Uzi loves a car ride and walks at the park (followed by a pupcup). She still greets people with excitement, still loves to play, still makes us laugh (a lot!), and still believes that someone will choose her…
