Parts of Baton Rouge under flash flood warning as storms move through area

South Central East Baton Rouge Parish is under a flash flood warning until 6:30 p.m. as thunderstorms move over the area.

According to the National Weather Service, parts of Baton Rouge have experienced 1 to 3 inches of rain. Additional rainfall of up to 2 inches is possible in the warned area.

Additionally, the NWS stated that as of 3:55 p.m., there is flash flooding in the Broadmoor, Sherwood Forest, Red Oak and Shenandoah areas. Two to 4 inches of rain have fallen already, with an inch possible…
