These Louisiana teens wanted to make schools safer, so they helped pass a state law

Beija Lopes-Morgan excelled in high school, but occasionally her mind wandered during class. How hard would it be, she wondered, for a stranger to enter the building?

During a meeting of fellow student leaders from across Louisiana, she asked if anyone else had ever felt unsafe at school.
