Few spots at chance for severe weather on Sunday

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Sunday brings another round of thunderstorms all across southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi, but some spots will have the chance for severe weather.

Northern Tangipahoa and northern Washington along with northern Pearl River county will be at a MARGINAL RISK (or LEVEL 1) for severe weather with the biggest threat being damaging wind gusts.

Although, taking a look at FUTURECAST wind gusts, the areas where the severe weather outlook mentions will not particularly see strong wind gusts.

Lafitte is showing to be the strongest with 26-mph wind gusts around 5:30 p.m.

In terms of the thunderstorms that all of us will see:

Storms will start crossing into the Louisiana coastal areas from 3-5 a.m. with a few getting to St. Tammany parish by 9 a.m. then we’ll simmer down a bit…
