State police investigating fatal hit-and-run on I-79

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash on Interstate 79 that shut the southbound lane down for several hours Saturday night.

State police in Girard said the crash happened around 11:10 pm Saturday on I-79 southbound in McKean Township, just south of the Interstate 90 interchange at mile marker 176.

According to police, the victim was found by a passing driver, with several others stopping to render aid, including two nurses. None of them, though, reported seeing the crash…
