For the third summer in a row, our daughter Piper has moved to a new spot in Denver. When she sent me the new address last month, I looked it up, the way a mother does. I realized it was barely a block from East High School, which made me think of Mary Nell Barringer.
I had gone on a walk with and written a story about Barringer in April. At 82, she takes daily walks, picks up bits she finds along the way and makes bug art from the unsuspected treasures.
