Former Folsom youth pastor held in Bossier Parish jail on $2.5 million bond

SHREVEPORT, La. – A former youth pastor arrested in connection with allegations that he sexually abused multiple children during the 1990’s is now being held in Bossier Parish on a $2.5 million bond.

David Mercer, 72, previously served as youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Folsom. He was arrested Friday by the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office following a search warrant at a home owned by the church.

He was booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center and, according to the sheriff’s office, was released Saturday…
