The Erie Yacht Club recently hosted its 35th Frolic on the Bay, an event that provides boat rides and a picnic to individuals with special needs and those from disadvantaged situations.
This year’s event marked the biggest Frolic on the Bay since the program’s inception, offering a breezy boat ride out on Lake Erie. Nearly 200 guests enjoyed smooth sailing around Presque Isle Bay before indulging in a picnic at the Erie Yacht Club.
Maureen Beck, co-chair of Frolic on the Bay, highlighted the scale of the volunteer effort. “Our captains bring their boats over, they go for a boat ride and we have 21 boats involved this year, so some boats are going out twice because we have so many participants,” Beck said…
