Louisiana convenience store employee charged with skimming of lottery proceeds

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A woman who worked at a convenience store in Baton Rouge is accused of not paying for several Fast Play lottery tickets after scanning them and then taking the winnings from the register.

Detisha Steib, 27, of Vacherie, was charged with skimming of lottery proceeds.

According to the affidavit, the alleged offense happened Jan. 1, 2024, at the Kangaroo Express at 3015 Millerville Road.
