The Erie Cancer Wellness Center (ECWC) is inviting the community to take part in a meaningful new event, Cranes for Cancer, on August 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2212 West 15th Street.
The special fundraiser will offer the public a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at the Erie Cancer Wellness Center and learn more about the programs and support services provided to individuals and families affected by cancer. The event will also serve as a heartfelt tribute to those who have battled the disease and those who have been lost to it.
The inspiration for Cranes for Cancer comes from the story of a young girl with leukemia who folded 1,000 paper cranes in hopes of having a wish granted.
