NOLA Public Schools officials are looking into complaints by staff members at Bricolage Academy about the school’s leadership and allegations that the charter school violated open meetings laws, according to a letter from the district to the school’s leaders.
The June 26 letter said the school did not respond to the district’s previous inquiries about the school’s public meetings and “other concerns and allegations.” The B-rated school on Esplanade Avenue enrolls about 1,000 students in pre-K through 8th grade.
The letter ordered Bricolage to provide information about how it responds to employee grievances, including ones filed in March, and how the board handles complaints about the school’s leadership. It warned that if the school does not provide the requested information and post missing school board documents on its website by August 14, the school could face “escalated consequences.”…
